The Historic Columbia River Highway-Waterfalls of the Gorge in Oregon!

Multnomah Falls. M.bellmore

The Historic Columbia River Highway

is approximately 75 miles long that ranges between Troutdale and The Dalles. This highway is saturated with large waterfalls that are iconic to Oregon! The whole gorge was formed by a cataclysmic flood about 14,000 years ago which formed the Columbia River! This whole stretch of road is enveloped by sheer basalt cliffs imbued with waterfalls and rainforest-esque landscape. For people living in the hustle of Portland, this area is close and offers up the untamed elegance and charm that is Oregon.

Nearly Endless Summer Bliss part 2-Secret Waterfall Adventure

Secret Waterfall Whychus

Chush Falls’ Neighbor

Even though it is not winter,

I want to start this post off by quoting Robert Frost and this classic poem. It captures the excitement of exploration of the forest and the existential emotion it gives.

“Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”

Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. -Robert Frost

Nearly Endless Summer Bliss-Jeep trails, rivers, and other wonders!

Vibrant Indian Fireweed

Indian Fireweed is native to Oregon!

It would be a crime

if one did not take full advantage of a nearly perfect summer with clear skies and soaring temperatures in the 90’s. I was perusing my newly downloaded Google Earth and found that in the area of Chush Falls, there are nearly 10 more MASSIVE WATERFALLS that are not visible on the path or roads because of how hidden they are in the gorges. Just seeing the satellite imagery elated my adventurous spirit and decided to get as close as I could to them using my Jeep and some the abandoned Forest Service roads.

🏔Unbelievable Mountain Scenery YOU will Love!❤️

iPhone and Joby Tripod

So, I decided to

take a nice drive up through the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway on a warm cloudless evening. I used my BRAND NEW Joby GorillaPod Action Tripod  and the Joby GripTight Mount to take about an 1 hour’s worth of time-lapse with my iPhone and could not believe how easy it was- not to mention the high quality it offers. The bugs were horrible, but the views were near immaculate.  Continue reading

Central Oregon: Lava at First Sight🌋

I seem to write a lot

about Central Oregon, not just because I live here, but because it is incredibly dynamic and full of volcanic history. I find myself doing thought experiments quite often on how it was 7,000-8,000 years ago when all the land around me was actively spewing its molten guts forming and shaping what I see today. It is very easy to take for granted how the violent nature of Central Oregon’s past has given us the beauty and wonder we see today and how amazing our Earth is.

Exploring Central Oregon: 🚙Ground and Air🚁

3sistaz

Whether in my Jeep shooting with my Canon T6s or in the air with my DJI Mavic Pro, the writing process trying to epitomize and illustrate Oregon’s beauty into words is harder than you may think. I am sitting here trying break down everything into descriptive words that will somehow do the pictures and video I am going to show you justice. It is not just describing what I saw, it is trying to tell a story and to maybe give you a chance to know how I felt while taking the pictures/video.
