So, I decided to
take a nice drive up through the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway on a warm cloudless evening. I used my BRAND NEW Joby GorillaPod Action Tripod and the Joby GripTight Mount to take about an 1 hour’s worth of time-lapse with my iPhone and could not believe how easy it was- not to mention the high quality it offers. The bugs were horrible, but the views were near immaculate.
Although you do not need a tripod and phone mount to do time-lapse, it is recommended to have to most stable platform possible. So how does the iOS time-lapse work? This image and information compiled by StudioNeat gives us the answer:
For instance, I shot for roughly one hour, therefore the iPhone shot 1 frame every 4 seconds giving me 24 seconds of footage. As I feverishly awaited the final result of the timelapse, I naturally wanted to take pictures of my surroundings!
